Wholesale and retail sales on the Internet are big and getting bigger every year.

E-Commerce has such a potential for growth that the US Department of Commerce has conducted an economic study on the subject.

"On the conservative end, it is expected to reach $7 billion by the year 2000. If mail order sales are used to determine the potential for Web retail sales, as some suggest, the figure could reach $115 billion in five to eight years." The Emerging Digital Economy, US Dept of Commerce.

Cooperative Knowledge, Inc. has been working in e-Commerce for years. Our biggest site is EMScience, a chemical supplier. They have tens of thousands of items available with complete product descriptions.

Your company does not have to be large to do business on the Internet. Some people call the Internet the great equalizer. What's the difference between a little kid with a web site and a major corporation with one? Nothing.

Even if you think your business doesn't lend itself to on-line ordering, there are many ways you can profit from the Internet. A recent article in InteretWeek stated that many people use the Internet to comparison shop and then find a local supplier from which to make their purchase. This way they know they are getting a good price, but they can get local service on the items they purchase.
